Hip eCommerce is searching for a genuine comic book enthusiast to help grow our HipComic.com marketplace. The collectible comics market is over $5 Billion per year; and while today, comics represent just 10% of Hip eCommerce's GMV (Gross Merchandise Value), it’s our fastest-growing business, with enormous potential and a key area of our growth plan.


This role will involve proactively seeking out new sellers as well as supporting existing sellers on the site.  Other responsibilities will include monitoring site activity and recruiting new and existing sellers into our Seller Marketing program; as well as coordinate with sellers on site-specific sales, events and auction events. Sales experience is a must, as this position will largely involve communicating with our potential sellers via email and phone.

About the Team

This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a quickly growing team of passionate, talented and experienced individuals.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and proactively reach out to potential and active sellers
  • Assisting new and existing sellers manage and expand inventory on HipComic
  • Working with sellers to keep listings to site standards
  • Coordinate integrations and imports with other inventory systems
  • Roughly 15% travel to meet with customers, attend events, and fulfill appropriate marketing initiatives to attain new customers and promote HipComic
  • A myriad of other tasks that come with a small and rapidly growing business


About You

  • Extensive knowledge of comic books and the comic book industry
  • At least 1 year comic book sales/management experience
  • Business development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Sales or customer service experience in any industry
  • Ability to develop and articulate strategy and perform tactically
  • Passion for large data sets to drive strategic insights
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic organization
