Within the $200 Billion worldwide collectibles market, there are many unique categories. At Hip eCommerce, our goal is to deliver a reimagined customer experience for both buyers and sellers. How are we doing that? We create category-specific marketplaces, built from the ground up, that understand how collectors browse, search and collect each type of collectible. We currently operate three marketplaces--HipComic, HipStamp, and HipPostcard--and plan to grow into other categories in the future. Since our 2016 launch, our marketplaces have gained 2,000+ Sellers, 200,000+ Buyers, and 12 Million+ Listings and we just raised a $5+ Million Series A round to expand our team and continue building the next great e-commerce company. We’re a fully distributed company, which means our entire team works remotely full-time. By removing the geographic requirements of an office, we’re able to hire the best, which means you’re working with the best. With team members across the United States, Philippines, and South America, we foster a culture that values collaboration and connection. To help facilitate that, our team members are primarily working standard Eastern Time hours.
About the Team
Our small but mighty People Operations team is focused on bringing top talent to Hip and supporting them throughout the employee lifecycle. Our People team members work closely with Hip’s leadership team to guide People related strategy across the organization and to make Hip an awesome place to work for all.
About the Role
As the Senior Manager, People Operations you’ll be a key part of formalizing Hip’s People Operations functions across employee engagement, development, and recruiting. You will lead initiatives supporting Hip’s culture and values as we scale our company. Hip has big growth plans and this role will be instrumental in that growth.
How you’ll spend your time:
Drive and carry out the strategy across People Operations including: Performance Management, Engagement & Culture, Talent Planning, Compliance and Benefits
Act as a business partner and strategic advisor for growing teams and employee management
Creating a best-in-class employee experience, with an emphasis on engagement, development, and culture in an all-remote environment
Quarter-backing team-wide meetings like our monthly All Hands and Lunch Jam
Manage employee escalations and management coaching as an HR business partner
Opportunity for people management as the team grows
Work closely with and maintain our PEO (JustWorks)
We’re excited about you if you:
Are deeply passionate about employee engagement, culture and people needs, and love to build from the ground up
Have 3+ years of experience in people operations, bonus points for start-up experience
Have excellent communication skills. As the main touchpoint for all things People, it's important to be organized and empathetic.
Love to find creative ways to drive employee engagement
Are a self-starter - you will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
Have an ability to balance multiple projects coupled with the confidence to drive the prioritization
