Accounting Assistant (Philippines - Remote)

Hip eCommerce is searching for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accounting Assistant who will help optimize and grow the Finance Department.


This is a full-time, remote-based position, working approximately 8 am to 5 pm Eastern Time Mon-Fri.

About the Position

The right candidate will work in conjunction with the Director of Finance on accounting-related tasks. This person will be responsible for receivables, payables, reconciliation, payroll, and data entry. The position requires help with maintaining and reconciling the Balance Sheet, help to interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable standards.


Candidates must have experience working with both US and PH payroll and payroll tax filings.



  • Perform US and PH payroll functions, including submitting US and PH payroll taxes

  • Assist in reconciliation of all accounts and balance sheets

  • Assist in accounts payable activities

  • Assist in accounts receivable activities including revenue recognition

  • Help with preparing financial reports

  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards


About You

  • An associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a similar field.

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience working on US accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll activities

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience working on PH accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll activities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
