About the Business Operations Team
Our Business Operations team is focused on driving growth across all three of Hip’s marketplaces. We work closely with our sellers to help them grow their business on our sites, because when our sellers win, our buyers win, and Hip wins. While we operate today in three different verticals, our goal is to make buyers and sellers on each site feel like we’ve built a platform of their specific interest and needs as a collector. The goal of the Business Operations team is to create this cohesion and leverage it to accelerate the growth of each site.
About the Role
Throughout our marketplaces, we work directly with our sellers to create group and individual Auction Events. Our flagship Auction Events include the weekly HipStamp No Reserve Auction Event, and HipComic No Reserve Auction Event - each of which generally include over 1,000 listings, and realize GMV of $50,000 or more.
The Auction Operations Specialist role focuses primarily on driving and scaling Auction activities from A to Z. This includes but is not limited to onboarding and educating sellers on the value of Auction participation, strategizing and communicating with sellers about their auctions, aiding with inventory selection, managing the auctions calendar for the vertical, and reporting on auction performance to the wider business.
Auctions are a rapidly growing revenue stream for our sellers and it is crucial that we work to expand the number of events offered each week and in order to support their growth. As an Auction Operations Specialist, your primary mission will be to work closely with our Vertical GM to successfully grow and support the Auction business.
How you’ll spend your time:
Working with the GM of Comics to optimize and grow the auction business
Setting up Auction Events on the back end
Collaborating with sellers via phone and email to get them started with our auction program and grow their auction revenue
Analyzing and reporting on auction performance
We get excited about you if you have:
3+ years professional experience within business operations/business management and/or entrepreneurship.
Strong written and verbal English language skills
Strong and demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel, or similar programs.
Experience using analytical, sales, and productivity/CRM tools
Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with sellers and stakeholder teams; written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proven strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
The ability to work well within a team structure, but also with a high level of autonomy
